During our last stay in London, after returning from Valencia, we were offered to take part in one of the satellite events as part of the Tech Open Air 2016 (TOA16) in Berlin, we were asked to give a two minutes stage pitch in an event that sounded as the perfect place for us to pitch. here's the event description from the TOA publications:
"Meet Berlin’s audio tech community at a special TOA16 satellite event by European Innovation Hub & Universal Music Berlin! In addition to being one of the fastest growing startup hubs in Europe, Berlin is also home to professional audio tech companies and a new breed of audio tech startups creating the next generation of creative tools and products for music. EIH & Universal Music Berlin have organised a special TOA satellite event to showcase leading audio tech startups who will present their products to an audience of music creators, audio-techies and the startup community. This event is part of Tech Open Air festival."
So without hesitating we changed our plans and arranged our travel from London to Berlin, a new and exciting territory for us. On the first day we had a meeting with our friends and partners from Stagelink. We decided to strengthen our cooperation and we started processing interesting projects that we hope we will be able to announce soon. Then we went to the TOA conference in the FunkHaus in Berlin, this conference is brilliant, its all about Art, Creativity and technology. it took place in this huge old deserted music studio complex in East Berlin. Part of it in the old studios, hosting great talks by inspiring speakers and part of it took place outside in a forest near a lake. The setting was perfect and it brought with it the creative and energetic vibe. So during the day everything happened there. We met great and relevant people, we attended interesting talks and learned new things about the industry and the latest trends and technologies. At night we partied with the same people in a way only Berlin can offer, meaning we didn't get much sleep during those three days :)
On the third day we had our pitch, on the roof of the Universal Music building, facing the skyline of the beautiful Berlin. around 100 guests came to our pitch event, guests from all around the world, all came to listen to 8 handpicked startups that mark the change that the music industry is going through and demonstrates the future soon to come. We had a short, accurate and perfect pitch that was followed by an hour of demonstrating our system to people that came to see it and to get more information. We are sure it was the beginning of great partnerships and projects in Germany and in other place around the globe and we are very happy with our decision to attend the TOA16.
We want to thank Kalam Ali, the TOA16 team, the Innovation Hub and Universal Music Berlin for inviting us and giving us the stage to present FunToad.
